Perl crypt_file function produces a file that only works on the server it was made on

Perl crypt_file function produces a file that only works on the server it was encrypted on.

Does anyone know what is needed to get the file to run on another server?

Where is it getting the symmetric key from if its not hardcoded in the file?

TIA

might want to check perlmonks.org. Are you using the same release of perl on both machines? a file encrypted in 5.8.x may not open in 5.10.0.

Also could be a different version of the underlying encryption libs eg openSSL.
In general terms, you might want to read the Warning section here http://search.cpan.org/~shay/Filter-...lter/Crypto.pm
