Post PengPod boot microSD card

I have a Pengpod 1000 and love it! When I bought it I got the 8GB microSD card insteadc of the 16 or 32 GB card. True to form, I ran out of space on the card and so I bought a 16GB card with the intention of using it. The Pengpod uses a specialised version of Linaro.

The company is now gone (although I hope they re-imerge) and with it the disc image I need to do this right. I guess I waited too long.

I need to recreate the 8GB microSD card onto 16GB microSD card and have it boot from the card. Is there any way this can be done? I run Ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop (desktop died too - If it weren't for bad luck . . .).

you can probably do this with dd.

or maybe you can use a gui like gparted and copy the partition then expand it.
