Penggy Connection Dropped by Server

I recently installed penggy version 0.2.1 after trying to get pengaol to install and having no luck (prob cuz im a newb). i got penggy installed fine and it seemed to have no errors. i followed the instructions to configure it and didn't have any prob with those. i started the program and it connects ok and then after a few seconds it says the server dropped the connection. Here's the exact output i get when i try to connect:

Using /dev/modem device...
Dialing Provider...
Dialing 5074057
Connection at 50667b/s done.
Executing chat script (/usr/local/share/penggy/chat/aolnet.scm)...
Script: String 'UQKT2' matched
Script: String 'Username' matched
Script: Send 'aol'
Script: String 'Password' matched
Script: Send 'aol'
Script: String 'Connected' matched
Script: Chat success
Chat success, connected...
Unable to initialize the modem
Unable to initialize the modem
Unable to register P3 protocol functions, access is not connected
engine - No data to wait
Server drop the connection.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - i'm getting really frustrated with it!

is there some reason why no one is answering my post? i posted it like a week and a half ago and everyone else seems to get a reply within a day. if there's something i did wrong or i didn't include enough info someone could at least tell met that instead of ignoring it completely.

I asked for help on penggy sometime back and got no reply as well.

I figure:

1. no one wants to admit to using using AOL on a Linux machine to access the internet.
2. Penggy is a Linspire/AOL collaboration and will never work with other distros.

Also, from my google searches on the topic, I have read posts from successful Penggy users in France. You might want to look alittle further on this. One site I found had english and french pages.
