PEAR OS 7 update
I have just installed pear 7 which so far seems an excellent distro. My problem is when i launch launchpad and click on software updater nothing happens. All the other links seem to work eg. install programs,etc.. I usually like to update any distro i install before anything else. Any suggestions? I tried a apt-get update from the console but wasn't recognised so i'm assuming it's not based on ubuntu which i thought it was. Thanks for any help Brian

unable to update [SOLVED]
Sorry for not explaining how it was solved but here it is. Pear is an ubuntu based system and when i tried 'sudo apt-get update' again after finding out it was ubuntu, it worked.I cannot say why it never worked the first time i tried to use this cmd but it works that way now. However, the software updater in launchpad still doesn't work so i suppose it is not really fully solved. I was just glad to get it updated with apt-get i ignored the updater icon problem. As it is a part of the system and it doesn't work i will begin a new thread referring to this specific problem and see if i can get a solution.
