pdf with animations
 

I've been doing a lot of searching on the Internet but find out that it seems like the only pdf reader that supports animations is adobe reader. But it's now unavailable for linux on the official website. And I just fail to install its linux version, 9.5.5.

So I want to ask if there is any pdf reader that supports animation?

Or further, how can a pdf reader support animations? Don't anyone want to make a pdf reader or at least a plugin of an existed pdf reader ,which supports animation?

Apparently not and I applaud that choice.

However "fun" page transitions, talking paperclips or purring cats may be to you I'd rather do without those distractions. What's more PDF means Postscript and as far as I'm aware it doesn't have any concept of "animations". So that would mean bringing in new code which in turn brings in new vulnerabilities. And if you have any idea about what documents are commonly (ab)used for Phising you realize we better to stay away from that definition of "fun" as well.

Never tried to put an animated gif in a pdf.

You do realize the intent of pdf is to be for documents and not animation by the way. :)

You may use Wine together with Adobe Reader.

Since I'm a latex fan, I prefer to use it to do everything including presentations. Also considering latex having beamer and animate package, it seems that it's a pity that we can't show its power under linux.

Because of not under the background of programming, I hope someone will try to make one. Or I can try my best after my programming class in the long future.
