PDF Viewers-kpdf in place of ggv

Am running Fedora Core 3 with both KDE and GNOME.

When my E-Mail programs (Evolution and Thunderbird) or my browser (Firefox) encounter a .pdf file, they automatically open it with ggv.

1. I want to kpdf to be the program that opens .pdf files.

2. I want to have a choice each time between opening the .pdf file in kpdf and saving to disk.

What do I do?

Thanks.

Well, this might be a KDE thing, or a Firefox thing.

In KDE (I don't use Gnome) you need to find "File Associations" and fix them up. Different distros put this menu in different places. Maybe Configure - Your Desktop - KDE or Open Konqueror - Settings Configure Konqueror - File associations. Associate pdf type files with kpdf. You may also wish to check [] Show file in separate viewer, otherwise you may end up using an "embedded" version of kpdf.

In firefox:
Edit - Preferences - Downloads.
Select "Ask me where to save every file"
Click "View & edit actions"
Remove the reference(s) to ggv.

Hope this helps.
