PDF, Fonts and Display
Hi,
I browsed many forums looking for a way to get a better font rendering with displaying pdf files. (so that they do not look falky... when reading with gs, ggv, or whatever).
Let me quote someone who sumurized the pb :
<< I have some target machines running Linux Red Hat v7.3 and 9.3 and the machines appear to be having a problem displaying the correct font when one Acrobat file is opened for a read operation. Display of incorrect font makes the text file essentially unreadable for user. This problem does not appear to be consistent with different PDF files on the same machines. >>
I am investigating fonts, as I am suspecting that "ghostscript" does not have enough Type1 fonts to render the eventually refered fonts from the pdf file.
As i you print a pdf including ttf fonts without any chance for the viewer (ghostscript, or ps, or gv) to acces to the description of the fonts.
I would appreciate if anyone could confirm (or not), and could give some advice. This is painfull here...
thanks christophe
