PCTel Modem Drivers For Kernel 2.6!

I hope this becomes a sticky as soon as possible.

I've been looking for MONTHS now for PCTel linmodem drivers for my modem, and finally there here! I'm actually posting this from my SUSE OS!

If you have a PCTel type modem goto http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/ and download your drivers!

I hope this works for everyone who has had as big of a headache as I've had.

I've downloaded the driver, and then compiled it.
But, I can't insert modules pctel.ko and pctel_hw.ko, just linmodem.ko

I'm using Ubuntu hoary 5.04 (kernel 2.6.10-386). Any suggests?!

Hi ag2uki,

Can you post the exact error message you got when you tried to insmod? Were there any compile errors?

PS: the order in which you insert the modules is important. "make insmod" if you're not sure.
