PCSX won't work on new HP Pavilion Notebook
 

I have used the PCSX PS1 emulator on 3 different Ubuntu 14.04 lts systems (2 desktops and 1 notebook all HP); however, this brand new HP Pavilion Notebook that has an Intel Core i3 processor simply won't run it. When I attempt to open any rom, it acts like something is going to happen with a black window for a few seconds, then the entire PCSX emulator force closes itself.

I have deleted the hidden .pcsx folder, changed the video driver back and forth from OpenGL to Xvideo, installed and selected the proper PS1 bios file, etc....

Any ideas ?

Addendum: I'm running PCSXR 1.9.92-4 perhaps a newer (or older) version is worth trying?

So, you finally got it installed?

Run it from a terminal and see what errors pop up...
