pclinuxos problem with RPM synaptic

Hi all,
I'm a newbie with a problem.

Here's what I know:
When I try to launch synaptic in pclos it can't connect to the repositories.

Here's what I've done:
I tried uncommenting different lines in my /etc/apt/sources.list file (and commenting the rest) with no luck.
I tried googling "sources.list pclinuxos" and copied and pasted what someone else had provided.
I tried googling several other keywords and searched this site for clues.

I appreciate any help you might offer.

Are you able to connect to the Internet with pclinux?
Did it used to work before you made some changes?

Thanks for your reply.
I am able to get online and I have been able to get it to work. After some googling, I found one file and pasted it into my sources.list. It was working when I had ibiblio uncommented but it was pretty slow so I recommented it and uncommented nluug (I had read online that it is much faster). Then it wouldn't work so I decided to recomment nluug and uncomment ibiblio (I figured slow is better than nothing, right?). But then ibiblio wouldn't work so I figured I was doing something wrong with the commenting. So I retraced my steps and since I had backed-up a copy of my /etc/apt/sources.list when it was working with ibiblio I copied and pasted the supposedly working syntax into the text file and assumed it would work since it did before. But it didn't. I will copy and paste what I have in my sources.list file later today but I'm not with that computer right now.
Thanks again for your time spent replying.
