PCLINUX2007 Login Problems

I'm having a problem logging into my Linux box now. It says "Call directories to Inusertemp failed (temporary directories full?) Check your installation." I do not have an option listed to clear my temp directories on my login page So I do not know what to do. I have logged in failsafe mode and the tmp dir does not have much in there. so I do not know where else to look or what else to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked in /var/tmp and /home/$USER/tmp?

Same trouble

I have the same problem. I "looked" in the directories suggested and what I "saw" was meaningless. What, are we supposed to be looking FOR please?

Oops! Found the answer - at least for myself. It may work for others?

As root user...

# cd /home
# chown username:username -R username

This recursively removes the root ownership of the username folder - which, in my case arose because I restored a complete system using the PCLOS backup routine.
