There are a few ways of doing this so a little more information will make it a little easier to help.

How do you intend to connect your machine to your mobile? Blue tooth, usb, ir?

Do you particular want a "suite" or are you happy enough to have your computer connected via your mobile?

Without being too cryptic, I'd lay bets on your machine already having everything you need. If you are happy to do it all via a terminal, I think I can help. If not, I'm not too sure about suites (such as Nokia PC Suite) but have a little experience.

You don't tell us what nokia phone you have or what distro you have, but mine is nokia 6111 and Fedora 7.
When I connect my mobile to PC using a USB cable, I got in /etc/messages:
Code:
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: usb 4-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: usb 4-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: Ignoring extra header, type -3, length 4
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: cdc_acm 4-2:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_acm
Oct 15 09:53:14 babylon5 kernel: drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: v0.25:USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters
And I can configure a modem connection using /dev/ttyACM0 device, which works nice at 115200bps !

But, to download your photos ans synchronize your contacts on the phone, you really need the pc suite running in windows.
If you figure out how to access your phone memory in linux, please, share with us.

marozsas, not sure who you were talking to there. Are you looking for my details or sabayonlinux's. Come to think of it, both would probably be useful.

I'm running kubuntu gutsy, my phone is a nokia n70 and my link is bluetooh.

Suffered a hard disk failure last week and lost a lot of my configuration and setup scripts as a result. Much of my pc-phone setup is missing at the minute but will be back up when I get the chance [I thought somebody on a forum might inspire me to do it! ]

This is what I had working:

Using the phone as a video camera
Accessing messages stored on the phone
Sending messages via the phone
File (image) access
Using the phone as a modem
Using the phone as a mic

Other than that, there were a few bluetooth things rather than phone things. Proximity login/logoff is all i can remember right now.

I'm away for the next while so replies may take a while...
