path problem during configure

I was installing the p2p program apollon and it was a all in one installation package . Well, during configure I received the following output... I read it and typed urpmi: ltdl and the output was:

The following packages contain ltdl:
libltdl3
libltdl3-devel

On further inspection i wanted to do as the instruction said and type the with-ltld = DIR so that configure finds the ltdl library. But I have to questions:

1- How do i find the ltdl library or any other library I might want to get the location of
2- If i have the path how do I add it to the default path

checking for lt_dlopen in -lltdl... no
* configure: error:
* *** Couldn't find ltdl library. If it is installed in a non-standard
* *** location, please supply --with-ltdl=DIR on the configure command line,
* *** whchecking for lt_dlopen in -lltdl... no
* configure: error:
* *** Couldn't find ltdl library. If it is installed in a non-standard
* *** location, please supply --with-ltdl=DIR on the configure command line,
* *** where `DIR' is the prefix where ltdl is installed (such as /usr,
* *** /usr/local, or /usr/pkg). If that doesn't work, check config.log.
*
***** Return value 1ere `DIR' is the prefix where ltdl is installed (such as /usr,
* *** /usr/local, or /usr/pkg). If that doesn't work, check config.log.
*
***** Return value 1

" * *** Couldn't find ltdl library. If it is installed in a non-standard"

You need to install ltdl-devel.
