patching Gkrellm

hello... i got gkrellm installed.

now i want to get the fan and temp sensors working...

i downloaded the three patches for 2.4.22 and extrated them.

they extracted to files without extensions, and i don't know what to do with them...

any help with this problem would be appreciated...\

i am running slackware 9.1, if that is of any help....

thanks,
