Extract password!
 

is there any way to extract the hash from the sam file while still in linux? Apparently ive locked myself out of my windows accnt. Ive tried saminside with wine and no luck. I have all the sam and syskey files on my linux desktop. I want to know if there is anyway i can find the hash, not the password, just the hash from within linux. I have another method of decoding the hash, so it is not neccessary. If possible can u suggest anny programs or tell me how i can manually extract it (if thats possible)?

there is a similar CD that will remove the sam file and reset your password, but its a 50/50 chance. I suggest instead of trying to recover the password (after all thats kinda suspicious) just reset it. The CD worked fine when the same thing happened to my windows xp box.

if u remove the sam file,then windows might not work

this only works for windows 2000
