password minimum lenght

Hi everyone.
I am working with a linux already installed and my job basically is to control an application running over the system.
However I am struggling with login and passwords issues.
How are the security policy in terms of passwords setting in Linux? and in particular how can I check the password minimum lenght set up in the system.?

losma

Regards

It depends on your distribution and the authentication mechanisms in use.

What distribution are you using?
