Partition table - file not found
Problems installing:
RedHat 7.1 - After "Starting anaconda" I get an "exec: No such file" error and install shuts down. RedHat 6.1 - Gives an error of "Unable to read partition table /dev/hda, file not found" System - FIC AZ-11 / TBird @1333 / 384M DDR Primary IDE - 40G IBM Deskstar Secondary Master - Toshiba DVD Secondary Slave - 12G Deskstar ASUS V6600 GeForce 265 VGA I have installed RH 7.1 on this system before but have changed the partitions around a lot since. Hardware swapping doesn't seem to help so I don't think it's a PCI issue. HDA partitions are - WinME/NT Loader 2G FAT, 2G for Linux root, rest split between a NTFS and a FAT32 partition HDD partitions are 4G FAT32 W2K, 4G NTFS, 576M Linux Swap and rest for Linux /usr The hda partition table seems ok to W2K, Norton, and Partition Magic. Any thoughts on what would make the installer barf? Thanks... /Derek |
i don't know if this will make a difference or not, but you might want to shrink the size of your linux swap, it usually never needs to be over 100 megs or its just wasted space, also you might want to create a /boot near the beginning on hda and also put swap there as well...
