Partimage - Sees / ext3fx partition as unkown

Hello forum:

I've installed Partimage on my RHEL 4 server, and upon running the program and attempting to image the root parition (/ on /dev/hda2), it tells me the partition's filesystem is unknown and it won't image it. A df -Tkh shows the root partition as ext3fs, but there's no label in the left column. At this point I don't know if it's because the drive has no label, or something else. I did find a post elsewhere on the internet saying something to the effect that partimage can't image logical partitions (LVM?). When I built the machine, I specified the swap space and nothing else, and left it up to the install program to format the drive space. Can anyone shed some light on this? Your help is greatly appreciated.

P.S. - Late developement... In the fstab file, this is the entry for the root partition.

/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 / ext3 defaults 1 1

I assume this means it's an LVM partition?

Yes, it is. It's one of the reasons I've lost my enthousiasm for the whole LVM thing, there are just too many applications that just don't know to make any sense of it.
