Partial Transparency not working when using xsetbg !

My story about how I finally got partial transparency with aterm on fluxbox !!

I installed aterm on my machine and launched it with
Code:
aterm -tr
Transparency worked cool, but its sometimes irritating when ur foreground color matches that of the background.

So to get partial transparency, I tried
Code:
aterm -tr -sh 50
The terminal now had a dull brown color and no transparency, no matter whatever value I gave for -sh .
I got the same color for the scroll bars when i gave
Code:
aterm -tr trsb
The problem was I was setting the background of fluxbox with xsetbg (in all the styles). When I changed this to Esetroot it worked fine !!!

Does anyone know why xsetbg doesnt support partial tranparency ?? And why Esetroot does ?

Iam not sure actually. This is what is present in my /etc/X11/XF86Config
Quote:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1280x960" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
So does this mean that Iam running it in 24bit mode ??
