Partial/Corrupt Files in Disk Cache

This one is really starting to annoy me. It appears the disk cache is storing partial/corrupt files. I'm browsing some rather large images with Konqueror and don't wait for an image to complete loading (hit back button to return to dir.) If I then try to open the file with the GIMP, it only loads up to the point before I canceled. Unmounting and remounting the volume doesn't clear it from mem. I can hit reload (F5) a dozen times and it still won't pull it fresh off the disk. Right now it looks like I either have to turn off disk caching for the volume or bump/reboot the box every time this happens. Neither scenario sounds terribly appealing to me. I hope it's a Konqueror bug corrupting the cache (no errors are generated), because if canceling the loading of any file leaves half of it in mem... well, that would really bite. Anway, I'm using 2.4.22 and KDE 3.1.3.
