Parallel Port Read/Write

I am looking to retrofit a manual 3-axis machine into an automated 3-axis machine via stepper motors. We currently use a lot of stepper & servo motion, but all with MS solutions. I've found LinuxCNC, but I'm wondering how difficult it would be to just read/write to a parallel port in a script? My moves would be very simple. Any thoughts? Thanks! ...Steve

Have you googled?

There are a zillion solutions. This one might work from a script.
