Panic with Enlightenment 17
I just installed Enlightenment a while ago. I tried before with the proprietary drivers in Slackware and it gave a panic and froze everything. Today, I tried to install with the oprn source drivers installed and in working order and it still gives the same problem the same way. It happens when I left click and try to view my applications menu on the desktop, it forces a hard freeze and causes me to hard reset. I have all the base dependencies resolved for e17, I'm thinking it might just be an issue with the kernel. Advice is welcome.

E17 runs quite nicely on my laptop running --current.
I was unable to get the one from Slackbuilds.org to run, but the one from SlackE17 worked out of the box on two different Slackware installations (I gave one of the computers to my son--that's why I'm down to one Slackware box.)
What version of Slackware and what kernel version are you running? Also, what specific drivers are you referring to?

Ah, yes! Forgive me, should have specified. I am using the 3.10.17 Kernel shipped with 14.1. Also using the open source AMD driver with a HD 7850. I keep messing up the upgrade to current and I'm pretty sure it's just silly little mistakes too.

I don't have AMD anything (not a choice, just how things shook out), so I can't say whether the driver is at all relevant, but I doubt it.
Which E17 are you using, Slackbuilds or SlackE17 or another?

Try the one from SlackE17. I couldn't get the Slackbuilds version to work either. I can't remember what the error was, but it wasn't a kernel panic. I think it just didn't load.
I really like Enlightenment. It's really geeky and has lots to tinker with.
