Pan News Reader 0.94 Error

I have configured and installed Pan 0.94 on RHEL WS4 update 3.
It configured and installed OK, but when I try to run, I get the following error:

[dwdrumrboy@localhost ~]$ pan
pan: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

[dwdrumrboy@localhost ~]$ whereis /usr/local/lib/ /usr/local/lib/

What do I need to change, something in the path environment?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks - dwdrumrboy

Is /usr/local/lib/ in your library path? If not, edit /etc/ and run ldconfig.
