pam does not like my owner, group and date for /var/ftp. especially /var

What are the original permissions, owner, group, date for the /var folder? How do I change them back? PAM is telling me every time I boot that these are incorrect.

What error messages are you getting? The date shouldn't be relevant. My /var is:
drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 4096 Jan 31 21:41 /var
