Palm and Gnome: problem with gnome-pilot and how to view/edit memopad entries

I'm running Gnome 2.4 as part of the Mandrake 9.2 distro. Gnome-pilot syncs calendar and todo beautifully with Evolution, but the memo conduit did not create memo_file in my home directory. That conduit is enabled. What should I check for to get this working?

(I use DateBk4 on the Palm, which integrates MemoPad into DateBk. I do not believe it supercedes the standard memopad database, though. So, there should be something there for gnome-pilot to sync...)

Also, when I get this sorted out, what can other Gnome users recommend as a good application on the desktop for working with the memopad entries? I used to do this a lot with JPilot and would like to continue to do so.

Thanks!

I am having the exact same problem with a Zire 71 and evolution. Everything syncs great with the exception of memo pad. It will create the folder as specified in the conduit settings but writes not files there.

Has anyone found this feature to be supported?

Thanks

Try creating an empty .categories file in your memo directory (e.g., touch ~/memo_file/.categories), then resync. The memo_file conduit exits immediately if it fails to find this file.

Worked for me....

Palm, Evolution, gpilotd, Memo

Syncing with Evolution works great, but where do I go to read the Memo files? In the Pilot Settings dialog, under Conduits, there's no Memo conduit. In my directory for my Palm (/home/username/palmdevicename) the MemoDB.pdb file gets changed, so at least I know my memo entries are getting backed up. And when I press the sync button on the cradle, gpilotd appears as a process, and I think gpilotd knows what to do with memo entries. But where can I read them on my Fedora machine? And if I edit them there, do they get updated on the Palm at next sync?

I'm having the same problem using Evolution 1.4.6 under Tools---Pilot Settings---Conduits there is no listing for memopad. Is there anything else I can use to sync memos?
