Packard Bell & Linux

I have a Packard Bell "Spirit" with 64 Mb Ram, 40 GB Hard Disk: 30 GB are used by Windows 98SE and 10 are not partitioned. I tried to install Linux (Red Hat 8, 9.1; Mandrake 9.1; SuSe 8.1 LiveEval) but no one is good. Mandrake stops at "Starting kswapd" and Red Hat a bit further. I thimk is because of the PC is a Packard Bell, but I'm not sure. Please help me!!! Thanks everybody.
