Packaging software for installation purposes
 

I have software that I'd like to package for distribution. I was hoping to find something that is capable of installing the software by simply clicking on a link via the web. That link would download and install the package automatically on your major Linux distros.

Also, anyone have a favorite for standalone packages? i.e. something that you download and install by clicking on the downloaded file.
