Package management thru port 22...

I need to devise a solution that will let remote devices do Debian-based package management and security updates using a cloud-based server. This solution can only use ssh.

Let me know if there is a more appropriate sub-forum for this question.

Thanks.

SSH gives you CLI access. The good news is the Debian package management utilities are CLI utilities, too. So TBH, I do not understand your problem. Can you describe better what restricts you from using apt-get, apt, dpkg?

Apt uses http to access remote repositories. All outbound traffic from the remote device is limited to using only port 22.
