Is there reason you do not want to use the repos online? They will be more up to date than the CD or DVD you installed from. During the install process Mandriva sets up the standard repos, so unless you have changed them, that is where new packages will come form.

If you must install locally, you can. You will have to delete the media you have, and add your CD or DVD sources.

Open up MCC, you will need your root password. Click on 'Configure media'. You should see a list of medias. You will have to delete them. Click each one, and click "Remove". Once they are gone, click File, "Add Custom Media". Select type of media as 'Removable Device'. There are options to set it as "Tag for update" and "create media for whole distro". I am not sure exactly what options you will need, you may have to try them to get what you want. This should aloe you to install from the CD or DVD.

I do not recommend this approach. You will not get the most up to date files, and you will not get updates.
