Owncloud: limit file sharing

Hello All,

we are trying to integrate Owncloud into our organization.
Right now we have version 8 on Centos7.

There is this one thing I just can't find:
The users each have a quota of 10Gb
How can I limit the total size of files a user can share to 500 Mb?

This would realy solve a big problem for me.

greetings, J.

Why do you need to limit the total size of files that a user can share? Sharing a file doesn't create additional copies of the file, it simply permissions other users to access the file.

Am I missing something here?

Hello TenTenths,

thanks for the reply.
The plan is more or less to have two Owncloud servers. On the main Owncloud server, the users will have the ability to
share files defined by ldap groups.
On the second one, the purpose is to share files with others that are not in the same ldap groups.
We used to have Zimbra for that, but we switched to Zarafa, which does not have file sharing.

If we don't limit the total amount of files they can share on the second Owncloud server, the users can sort of bypass
the ldap system and do all the sharing from the second Owncloud server.

Maybe not the best plan, but at the moment that's the plan.

Greetings, J.
