Output system errors and wornings ?

how can i display all errors/warnings/events from linux system to console to see what happens to my system rather going and watching all log files.

I so something what my frien had long time ago, he displayed all this messages on kde desktop (probably normal console without frames and transparent background) and i was updated automatically)

How can I make such log?

Thanks

here is my recommendation:

open up konsole
setup a "transparent" theme
as root, enter the following command:

tail -f /location/of/log /location/of/other/log

cheers,
