Generally, the best place to set ANY automated response is at the SERVER. Evolution is not tied to any specific server, it is ONLY a mail client in terms of mail. OUTLOOK has such settings, but they are actually communicated FROM the outlook client to the EXCHANGE server and the automation takes place on that server.
What is your email server? If it has another interface that DOES support that feature, you may be able to set it there. (via a web interface comes to mind.)
Keep in mind that Evolution is a PM first, and only integrates email as one function of PIM. (Quite well, I would say, but not with every feature is every email client around.)
Did not know that evolution was primarily a PM tool. I started using it for a juno.com email account. I've used strictly webmail for the account for years as pop was not supported for the free version of juno until recently. Even after it was supported I was OK with webmail until recently and never needed out of office use with webmail. I'll check the server.
Thunderbird is a pure email client that has been extended to have additional functions (Calendar, for example) and it does have reply automation features. ( see http://www.am-novice.com/US/Computer...underbird.html )
The problem with reply automation in the client is that the client application and the machine it runs on MUST be online, running, connected to the internet and the mail server for it to work. In the case of an OOTO reply, this almost subverts most of the value in having an OOTO reply in the first place. IF you CAN do it on the server, that is the better option as you do NOT then require to have your client PC running all of the time.
There are pages (one for gmail is here [url]https://support.google.com/mail/answer/25922?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en[url] ) for using the web interface to gmail to set up an autoreply at a mail server. You have not mentioned what email server you connect to, or (if it is your own) what mail server engine you are using, but I would start with that. Good luck!
