Orca Screen Reader not working on Mint 18.1 64-bit Cinnamon

Well, the subject says it all really. If I start Screen Reader from the Mint menu, nothing noticeable happens. Same if I use the accessibility menu on the panel. If I run "orca --replace" from a terminal window, I get the following:

Code:
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pyatspi/__init__.py:17: PyGIWarning: Atspi was imported without specifying a version first. Use gi.require_version('Atspi', '2.0') before import to ensure that the right version gets loaded.
  from gi.repository import Atspi

** (orca:3331): WARNING **: AT-SPI: Error in GetItems, sender=(null), error=Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Any help to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

Hi...

Does the solution here work? I'm not sure if using Python 3, as opposed to 2.7, makes a difference here, perhaps another member can comment.

Regards...
