Oracle 9i on CentOS 5
 

Hi!
I tried to install Oracle 9i on a machine running CentOS 5. In order to complete the process I followed the instructions given at this address: http://ivan.kartik.sk/oracle/install_ora9_fedora.html. Everything worked fine until I run the Oracle universal installer. I mention that I used Java 6 from Sun all the time and modified the .bash_profile and oraparam.ini files to reflect that. I set up all that was needed and then clicked the ¨Install¨ button. In the window with the progress bar there were some labels: ¨Installing Java Runtime Environment 1.1.8.1.0¨, ¨Link pending¨ and ¨Copying jre¨. From this point nothing happened. I waited for ten minutes with zero processor activity then closed it. I also tried with selinux disabled and on a Debian 4 system and the whole scenario repeated.
Do you know what is causing this and could I fix it?
