Oracle 9i installation on Red Hat Enterprise AS 3 (on a machine ia64)

Hello !

When trying to install "Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) for Linux Intel" from cdrom, i get the following errors :

[oracle@TTISBDD01T cdrom]$ Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2005-06-14_06-00-42PM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
/tmp/OraInstall2005-06-14_06-00-42PM/jre/bin/../bin/realpath: line 31: /tmp/OraInstall2005-06-14_06-00-42PM/jre/bin/../bin/ia64/realpath: No such file or directory

grep: /lib/jvm.cfg: No such file or directory
grep: /lib/jvm.cfg: No such file or directory
java was not found in /bin/i386/native_threads/java

It seems that my machine (an HP rx4640 ia64 ) doesn't match the right Oracle target machine (i386).
How do I have to proceed to avoid these errors ?
Thank you !!

Looks like you're trying to install 32bit oracle on a 64 bit machine, you need the IA64 version.
