ORACLE 9.0.1 Install Failure

I am a Linux newbie and trying to install ORACLE 9i on the Linux system, and ran into problems. In the middle of installation, the Java GUI interface just blew-away, died without any error or warning message. Looking at the ActionLog, I could not find any meaningful errors/warnings. The Linux version is Redhat 7.2. the ORACLE version is 9.0.1. Anybody can offer any idea?

Thanks !!!

I installed oracle under Redhat 7.3 and encountered many obstacles.

I didn't encounter your problem

I'd recommend 512 meg RAM for this installation (Java is a memory hog)

Download the 9i installation manual and follow instructions on setting up sparameters like SHMMAX, etc.

Make sure you have the recommended JDK
