At home I try to track what I'm doing and need to do through an ad-hoc combination of README files in project directories (under CVS), KNotes post-its, and TODO items in a PIM.

It gets a bit unwieldly. If my wife or kids want new fonts, software, other admin problems, etc, they leave me a physical note, which may get dropped on the floor. Clutter and disharmony result.

Does anyone have suggestions on easy to use software that would allow me to browse tasks by category or status, see the history of a task, allow others to easily submit tasks, etc? This won't be used by 10,000 people, but it will be used by more than just me.
