Opera won't play youtube video

I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty and I've always used Firefox, problem is that the version of Firefox I now have keeps crashing and I have to force quit it.
I've now decided to use opera for a change and it looks good but when I try to watch a Youtube clip (not tried it with anything else), the page loads ok but the actual clip box isn't there. At least it doesn't appear on screen but if I mouse over the blank space I can right-click and open it in Galeon for example, so it is there after all!

Please help, what do I need to install or do?

Thanks

You need to install the flash plugin in order to watch youtube videos (and many other things as well). Just install the appropriate Ubuntu package for your system and off you go. I assume Opera will use the same plugin as everyone else. Check on the Opera website to see if there are any specific instructions for installing the plugin.
Cheers,

Thanks for the response, as I said though, I don't have any problems with Firefox or Galeon e.t.c. so I can't understand why Opera has a problem. I'll check the Opera website as you suggest.

works for me on 64-bit Debian Testing and Opera 9.64 with the flashplugin-nonfree package installed.

Are plugins enabled (F12)? Does it see the flash plugin? Browse to: about:plugins

This is the top bit of plugins

Shockwave Flashapplication/futuresplash spl
application/x-shockwave-flash swf
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so

They look a bit strange. "futuresplash"??? "flashplugin-alternative.so"???
I have "libflashplayer.so". Is this the one that works on FFx? or is it specific to Opera. Where did you get it?
