opera freeze

i'm running opera 7.1.0. i connect to the internet through a 512 mpbs cable connection hooked up to a wireless router that i access thorugh a pcmcia wireless card (other relevant info in signature). i've been using opera for a couple weeks now, with almost nothing but good things to say about it. however, the past couple of days, opera has started to freeze while loading certain pages. it doesn't seem to be specific pages, although i think it has done it most on espn.com. anyway, it's not a permanent freeze--usually after 10 seconds or so it is working again, but it's still annoying--i usually have multiple pages open at once, and if a page takes a while to load, i'll look at another page while waiting.

any suggestions as to what could be causing this or how to fix it? i appreciate any feedback.

This is a longshot but do you clear your cache and use the delete private info regularly. I use opera 7 also and have no had any probs.

I've had similar problems w/ the windows version. I realize they're different, but with Windows, all I can say is it seems to be buggy. A reinstall will work for a month or so. Most of the time it isn't that bad, so I just ignore it. When will Mozilla get mouse gestures? I'm addicted!!

Clearing the disk cache has fixed this for some of the people on the opera-users mailing list.
