opera browser on slack 8


i have opera and cannot close a couple of web pages, keep poping up again when i try to close. i have clicked on windows and selected close all, but it will not clear the webpages of the screen.

Does this happen only once you've opened Opera, or is it like this from the moment you type 'startx'?

I don't mean to be rude, and I'm not joking, but check your background image. Has someone played a joke on you by taking a screenshot of these webpages and then set them to your background image? What happens when you access the internet with othe browsers?

i have visited a web site that i believe places cookies and then keeps flashing web page when you try to close it. can,t figure out how to get it disabled so i can start fresh again with opera. ?i would hate to uninstall and reinstall slack and opera , but i will to get rif of this darn problem, excuse my language.later ronss

i deleted the opera directory, solved the problem but hope i did not create new ones?

You can go into preferences and set it to not accept third party cookies and to refuse pop up windows.............................have not had a problem yet.
