With all due respect that is the lamest excuse yet and that is about all we have been getting from Opera for the last year and a half, lame excuses for one of the dumbest decisions in the history of browser software.

Your last sentence and the link is all you had to say.

No, it is an explanation and a valid one at that. Additionally I genuinely was not sure what you were asking. Even now I don't know if you expected an official Slackware package or just expected some explanation of how to install. So I covered both possibilities.

Using Ruario's script I downloaded and installed the beta last night into Slackware64-current and ran it for an hour or so before un-installing it.

My experience pretty was much the same as that of the reviewer in post #88, above.

At first it seemed a little familiar, but not for long.

PLEASE, PLEASE bring back plain "old fashion" bookmark. Looking at those block images reminded me of kindergarten finger painting. If I wanted a iPad/tablet computer I would buy one.

Couldn't change the default search engine or add one.

The last straw was when I noticed it reports itself as, chrome. If I wanted to use anything from google I would use chrome/chromium.

The whole thing is reminiscent of the KDE 4.0 disaster, i.e., developers who can't see the forest for the trees.
