Opera Acting Silly

I just installed the static version of Opera for Red Hat 8.0. Sometimes it works with no problem and sometimes it gives a segmentation fault and does not work. It seems completly random. It works when it wants to. Anybody else had this problem?

And they expect me to actually buy this browser...

Try running it from a console, and see if it gives more than just a segmentation fault as far as an error message.

Also, try getting the tarball, and installing with that, maybe the RPM just has a messed up binary.

Cool

I tried it with both the tarball and rpm and it still gives this error in the consol:

line 138: 1496 Segmentation Fault ${OPERA} "${@}"

I did a search for this error message and all a found where a bunch of posts that had no replies. Like I said, it is not consistent.

Well, then you may be the lucky person to have found a bug. No biggie, just submit as a bug report and see what comes of it, until it is resolved download a slightly older version. Also, check the mail lists, sometimes a google search won't provide as good information as searching the mail lists directly.

Cool
