Opera 7 and Java
Hello, I have just recently installed Opera 7 for Linux (using the Mandrake RPMS, I have a Mandrake 9.1 system) from the latest Linux Format (LXF) CD, and I am trying to get Java working properly.
I have the Java SDK 1.3.1 from Sun installed, and it is working fine. However, Opera can't seem to autodetect it.
Also, on the Opera web site it says to do this to enable Java:
"Please go to File > Preferences > Multimedia, and click the "Choose" button for the "Java path" field."
However, when I go to "File > Preferences > Multimedia", there is no "Choose" button and no "Java path" field.
How then, do I enable Java for LXF Opera 7?
Thanks!

Try the new Opera 7.11 Release. There the Java Path Field exist and works perfectly.

Hrm, it did work great, now it's back to not working again, but I haven't changed anything!!!!
When I first upgraded to 7.11, I went to "file -> prefrences -> multimedia" and gave it the path to the correct *.so files, and then tried out a bunch of Java applets (the clock demo etc...) and they all worked fine, however, now they don't work at all. I tried loading a Java applet and all I got was an "image" place holder.
and now when I go to the "file -> preferences -> multimedia" menu, the "Enable Java" checkbox is greyed out!!!
