openSUSE 10.2 boot problem
 

I've got opensuse10.2 installed on a partition on one of my pcs drives, i am using acronis os selector to boot my operating systems (windows xp on one serial ata, and mac os and suse sharing the ide drive). until recently it would boot all 3 fine, but since i reinstalled it after it came up with an error once, it won't see my linux installation, which is definitely still there, when booting from the installation cd and picking the boot from hard disk option it at first came up with a grub error, but now its just booting darwin/os x instead.
i have tried using the rescue system boot and tried using grub-install... but its read only, so i can't repair it that way, any ideas?

i'm guessing all i need to do is to configure my bootloader again, or is it not as simple as that? im having to use windows xp home at the moment and its a nightmare, so any help would be much appreciated.
