OpenOffice Writer won't save/open in kde 3.4

I recently upgraded kde from 3.3 to 3.4 on suse 9.2, now openoffice will not open/save. When I press save/open a crash error box comes up saying that kdefilepicker crashed and it gave a signal 11.
Any ideas?

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is to check the permissions in your home directory. Make sure also, that owner and the group are all you.

HI!

I have read from this problem somewhere else. It seems, you have to uninstall OpenOffice_org-kde, if I remember correctly.

There is a workaround that is supposed to work. You can find the information at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100849.

Another option is the one that I did. I uninstalled Open Office and installed the 2.0 beta version. It works fine. The only issue is that you will get double menu entries, but that can be fixed with the menu editor.

Install Sun Java 1.50

Some Formats for saving apparently require Java installed

configuration

You should change the configuration of openoffice.

Choose in the menu: tools->options
Choose Openoffice.org->General
Vink the Open/Save dialogs

You should be able to save your document. This should solve this tread.
