OpenOffice works only as root

Hey,

I'm running 'Slackware 14.0' and I installed OpenOffice from Slackbuilds.org.
Everything works but only problem I have is that when I run OpenOffice from application menu or from console as non-root user I get every time (optional -- usually appears once at first start) registration window and I finish that but after that openoffice closes -- even tho 'OOffice writer' should start.

Error I'm getting when launching from console as non-root user:
Quote:
/opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice: line 120: 8792 Aborted "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"
I'm pretty beginner with Linux but kinda have this idea that I should aim to run everything as non-root which can be ran without admin privileges.

It sounds like it might be a permissions issue.

Either using the file manager or the command line, what are the permissions for the Open Office directory, subdirectories, and executable files.

In a file manager, navigate to the items in question, highlight each one, right-click, and select "Properties." From the command line, use ls -l [path].
