OpenOffice Text Colours

Afternoon all

Does anyone know how to stop OpenOffice from making email addresses blue? (as in anything with an '@' sign in it).

I've been through every configuration page I can find and I can't see how to turn this off. It's causing me much irritation.

Cheers.

Dammit.

As usual, as soon as I post here, I find the answer myself.

I couldn't highlight the text without clicking the mailto link, however having eventually managed to get inside the text box, I was able to change the colour from Automatic to Black manually.

I'd still like to know if there's a configuration option to not have links in blue, though.

heh, if that's your only problem with an office-suite writer, you're in heaven. wanna know what MS Word does for me, without asking, and so that I cannot configure it not to do anymore?

-change my layout by itself
-change my keyboard language and layout with no visible reason (can't switch back?)
-prevent me from using certain formations, because when I do, then it applies the same format to multiple places I haven't selected and that aren't even of the same kind (like headings + normal text)
-crash without warnings
-force me not to make a page break between two existing, written pages - if I do, it'll delete all the nice formats I've done for the written page after the break, and if I attempt to change them, it copies them to the empty page, which I don't want
-etc
-etc
-etc

so, I'm pretty sure you can find your answer in a small time...ask OO.org if you can't figure anything else out. I tried asking MS for the problems above (I listed something like 20 of them, that I had in one try a few months ago) and they were unable to answer - I only got "read the manual" type of message. funny, yeah...the manual haven't got the faintest idea of what I want to know :)

Yeah. I've generally found Office suite interfaces to be an absolute mess. The only exception to this is AppleWorks, but even it has its quirks.

Word is an absolute joke, though. The defaults are utterly infuriating. Last time I used it I was nearly screaming at the monitor - adding an entry to the end of a bullet list after I'd put some normal text after the list was apparently not the sort of thing Word liked doing.
I ended up scrubbing the document and starting again. I haven't used Word since.

I do hope OpenOffice doesn't end up that bad, 'cause it's starting to look like it might.
