OpenOffice.org Install fails on rpm2cpio

Cannot complete rpm2cpio because the libbeecrypt.so.6 shared library cannot be found because the file or directory does not exist...

RPMs unpack fine and then I get that failure followed by:

cpio: premature end of archive

and then back to the command line.

I am running Absolute Linux which is based on Slackware 12.1, and I am at a loss as to why I can't get as simple an operation as OpenOffice installed onto my new box...

Thanks for any help, and if left out info that you need please do ask for me to post it!

Considering others also having problems converting
ooo-3.0 rpm packages on Slackware, you could try
the OOo_3.0.0_LinuxIntel_install_wJRE_en-US.tar.gz
from
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html

If you want a particular language, there are some
packages around.

Last resort is to convert the Debian package(s)
with # 'alien -t' to get '.tgz' packages.
And they work.
....
