Openoffice not available in gnome, even though installed
Even though all openoffice packages are (seem) installed and updated on my system: in my application list neither 'draw', nor 'math', nor 'base' show up. 'Calc', 'impress' and the word processor show up with generic names and wrong icons.
Does anybody know what is going on and how I can fix it? (An improvised fix that makes draw and math available would already be a great help.)

That's what is supposed to happen.
You'll find that the math and draw components are accessed from within the others. As intended.
If you have all of open office installed then these commands should bring up various components of open office. Then go into the Gnome edit menu section and click on Office. The menu editor should present you with the ability to turn on the menu entries for the missing components of open office.
Thanks, I did not realize that the linux version is so different from the windows one, where I get 'draw' as an application. So, I take it that the drawing tools I see, e.g. in 'impress' are draw? Or do I open somewhere something else up?
all commands except 'openoffice' and 'ooweb' opened the expected windows.
However, I was too blind to find my 'gnome edit menu section'. In the 'applications -> add/remove software ->(opens package manager)-> applications -> office/productivity -> optional packages' window I ticked every open office part offered and re-booted. Still, the open office parts are hiding from me. How do I get to my gnome edit menu section?
