OpenOffice keeps asking for user data

I upgraded two bosex from RH9 to Fedora 1. OO works in the one I intended for double-boot (although RH9 no longer works there). In the other one, in which I upgraded RH9 to F1 without preserving access to RH9, every time I click on OpenOffice I get the setup screen asking for my name, address, phones, etc. I deleted the whole folder and reinstalled from the tarball using the setup script, with same results. One time early in the process I got OO to come up from the command line but haven't been able to duplicate that.

Try the following:

chmod 777 <ooffice_installdir>/user/java

I had the same problem... i know that if you did a ./setup when installing you get this problem but if you did a ./install you don't - very weird...

That pointed me in the right direction. Presumably ./setup points to a different script than ./install. After several tries, I got oowriter to come up, but the icons don't point to the right place. I looked on my other computer, which is accessing oo under Fedora without a problem, and found I am missing oowriter, etc., in /usr/bin. I put them in and it still doesn't work. After all the deletng and reinstalling, I'm just about at my wit's end!
